This is how to get your cracked GTA IV to work online.

First install Hamachi. It's a software emulating a LAN over the Internet.

It will tell you all about creating and joining servers.

Create one, and make everyone who is going to participate to join the Hamachi server you have created.

Then, for the a bit hard part for the beginners, but really, it's quite simple:

Games for Windows Live' is Microsoft's try to port 'Xbox Live' to the PC. It requires the game developers to implement it directly in the game to work.
Because of this all games that are based on it have the same problem: even if Hamachi is set to first priority in the adapter's list the game still sets your active internet connection as default.
The workaround is rather simple, yet it involves registry editing.

   1. go to start > run... > type regedit and press enter;
   2. now, using the left pane, go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER > Software > Classes > Software > Microsoft > and click on XLive;
   3. now right click in the right pane > New > String Value > and name it ConnectionOverride;
   4. right click on the new value > Modify... > and type Hamachi and press ok.

Now enter a Windows Live based game, press the 'Home' key > Personal settings > Network Information and the adapter should now be Hamachi.

Well, if it did say "Hamachi" or "Hamachi registry overrided" or something like that, congrats!

Or else, check everything, exit regedit, and restart your computer and check again.

When you want to play online, get in-game, use the cell and choose multiplayer. Choose the one at the top, and choose "LAN."

Now, what I have done to get this working, is to simultanously press "Quickjoin" on both computers. Then they'll both show up in the lobby.
I don't know why it doesn't work all times, but it does when I click quickjoin on both computers. This really works!

Please post any comments if you got tips how to make it work more flawlessly. Again, this is how I managed to get it work, and I just wanted to spread the information so that people can get started getting this feature better.

Good luck my people!
